Man accused of fatally shooting his step-mother
MT. VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A convicted felon faces murder charges after investigatoprs say he fatally wounded his step-mother during an argument.
According to the Kentucky State Police, 42-year-old George Henshaw, of MouNt Vernon, is charged with murder, evidence tampering and felon in possession of a weapon in the death of 60-year-old Louis Henshaw, also of Mount Vernon.
At about 7:40 p.m. Monday, the KSP London Post received a call for assistance, from Rockcastle County Dispatch, with a shooting incident on Potter Road in the Scaffold Cane community of Rockcastle County.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Henshaws were in an “ongoing verbal altercation” when George Henshaw got a gun and shot Lois Henshaw, the KSP said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner.
Detective Ryan Loudermilk, with Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police Post 11 personnel, Rockcastle County Sheriffs Department, Rockcastle County EMS and the Rockcastle County Coroner.
