Man accused of abusing 6-week old baby

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Richmond man is accused of abusing a six-week old baby, according to Richmond Police. Investigators say they were called to UK Hospital in Lexington where a baby had been brought in suffering from injuries consistent with abuse.

Police say the child had a bruise in the shape of a hand on the side of its head and another bruise on its foot.

Investigators say 36-year old Gregory Jessie was caring for the child when it was injured. He was interviewed at the Richmond Police Department on Sunday and charged with Criminal Abuse 1st Degree. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

Investigators did not release the condition of the baby.
