Lexington man accused in two separate murders enters change of plea

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Lexington man already in jail for one deadly shooting is now facing charges in a second homicide case.

According to police, 25-year-old Deonte Carter appeared in court Friday for a change of plea related to the 2021 murder of Devon Sandusky on Oak Hill Drive.

Carter was already behind bars for the 2022 murder of Kobby Martin on Cantrill Drive. He now faces two counts of murder and one count of evidence tampering.

Lexington Police say both homicide investigations remain active.
