Man accused in hit-and-run involving child in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A child was injured in a hit-and-run accident late Thursday afternoon in Lexington and the driver was later found and arrested, according to Lexington Police.

Investigators say 44-year old Anthony Lewis hit the child with his car on Mandalay Drive and drove off just after 5:00 p.m.

Lewis was found and arrested a short time later, according to police.

Police say the child’s injuries were not life-threatening.  The victim’s name wasn’t released.

Lewis was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license, according to police.
