Man accused of beating caregiver to death appears in court
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The man accused of beating his caregiver to death with a baseball bat in Georgetown made his first court appearance Tuesday. Hunter Moore says God told him to “beat the demon out of her.”
Moore’s attorney said over the phone that before the next hearing, he plans on filing a motion asking for the court to order a mental health evaluation for Moore.
According to police, Moore’s caregiver, 53-year-old Denise Rene Hamilton, was hired by Moore’s family to be his caregiver.
They moved to Georgetown earlier this year. Police say they had been called to the house they lived in a couple times before the beating death. Some were for disturbances, other times, people claimed there was a suspicious person walking around in the neighborhood. According to police, walking around the neighborhood is something Moore liked to do.
Moore is still in jail. According to the funeral home, there is no obituary for Hamilton because the family wants to keep the funeral private.
