Madison County to Vote on Raising Dropout Age

The Madison County School District is considering raising its dropout age to 18.

The announcement comes shortly after lawmakers passed a bill allowing districts to make their own decisions on raising the drop out age. The first 57 school districts in the state to raise the dropout age will receive a $10,000 dollar state grant.

The school board is expected to vote on the possible change next week.
