Madison County Schools out Tuesday due to flu

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Madison County Schools is cancelling classes on Tuesday, January 22, as it battles a high number of flu cases.

Schools are out Monday, January 21 for Martin Luther King Day.

Madison County Schools announced on Facebook it was taking advantage of the long weekend and using its first Non-Traditional Instruction Day on Tuesday to do additional disinfecting and cleaning.

This is the second district to cancel classes recently because of the flu.

Powell County Schools closed Friday, citing a large number of flu-related absences.
