Lexington Leadership Foundation up for thousands in award, public can vote
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Leadership Foundation has been named a regional finalist by Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards™.
Finalists are spread across three states, including two in Kentucky, three in North Carolina, and one in South Carolina, with LLF as the only nonprofit organization being represented in central Kentucky.
Four of these organizations will be selected for a gift ranging from $50,000-$150,000. Chick-fil-A, Inc. will officially announce all True Inspiration Awards recipients in January 2021.
“This is a humbling opportunity, and we are truly honored to have been named a finalist by Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards,” said Eric Geary, LLF CEO. “Opportunities such as these are game-changers for the children, families, and neighborhoods we serve.”
The True Inspiration Awards™ program was created in 2015 to honor the legacy of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy. Since then, more than $7.1 million has been granted to nonprofits doing amazing things in their communities.
This year, Chick-fil-A committed to award $5 million in True Inspiration Awards grants to qualifying nonprofits that are either Black-led or serving primarily Black communities or other communities of color.
“The Lexington Leadership Foundation and its four ministries are such a blessing to our community,” said Chick-fil-A Franchised Restaurant Operator, Jeff Stryker. “LLF provides essential resources and drives change for the better throughout the Bluegrass.”
As part of the consideration process, LLF and Chick-fil-A are encouraging the community to vote for LLF through the Chick-fil-A app which can be downloaded here or on your smartphone.
