LPD: Woman that led police on chase charged with murder
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The woman that stole a bucket truck and led police on a 45-mile chase on Friday has now been charged with murder, Lexington Police say.
According to police, Vanessa Napier, 32, was charged with murder in connection to a homicide that occurred in the 5900 block of Athens Walnut Hill Pike.
Officers were dispatched to the home on Saturday around 4:35 p.m. to conduct a welfare check, police say. Officers discovered a male victim who had been fatally wounded.
Along with being charged with murder, Napier was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
According to police, Napier was already lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center for the police chase on Friday when the charges were placed.
The Fayette County Coroner has not yet released the name of the victim.
