LPD: Woman suffers head injury after assault with bat

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman is left with a severe head injury after police say she was attacked by her husband Monday morning.

The Lexington Police Department says they were called to the 100-block of Codell Drive at around 12 a.m.

Officers found a woman with a a head injury and learned she had been hit with a bat.

They say their investigation led them to a home on Butternut Hill Court.

Officers say they found the suspect, who is the woman’s husband, and took him into custody.

Police say he was charged with assault.
