LPD: Woman shoplifts, hits car while fleeing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police accuse a woman of shoplifting then slamming her truck into a mini-van as she was leaving the scene.

Court documents say 53-year-old Anita Booten was spotted shoplifting at the Walmart on New Circle Road on Tuesday.

Documents say she ran from the store, got into a pickup and took off down New Circle Road, where she ran into a mini-van.

She was found and arrested Wednesday.

Booten is charged with several counts of wanton endangerment and theft.
