LPD: Woman shoplifted a nearly $1,000 necklace in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Investigators with the Lexington Police Department are hoping the public can help identify a woman they say stole a white gold necklace from a local jewelry store.

Officers say it happened around 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Farmer’s Jewelry on Euclid Avenue.  According to police, the woman asked to see several necklaces, and then switched one out with a necklace she was wearing.

Police say the necklace was a white gold rope chain valued at $995 dollars.

According to officers, the woman left the store before an employee noticed.

Anyone who can identify the woman is asked to call Lexington police at (859) 258-3600.  Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). A cash reward from Crime Stoppers is available for information leading to an arrest in this case.
