LPD: Woman seriously injured after being hit by car

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a woman suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a car while crossing North Broadway near New Circle Road Monday night.

The accident happened just before 10:00 p.m., according to police.  Investigators say the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was hit.  Police say a bystander performed CPR on the woman until EMT’s arrived and rushed her to UK Hospital.  Her name was not released.  Police say the driver had not been charged as of this writing.

The accident impacted traffic.  Police say North Broadway near New Circle Road will be closed for the next two hours while the Lexington Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) investigates the accident.
