LPD: Woman assaults couple Downtown Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police have arrested a woman after they say she assaulted a couple and tried to hit them with her vehicle after a concert Downtown Lexington.

Police say the woman arrested is 26-year-old Shannon Brewer.

Police say Brewer was driving a white Dodge Charger earlier this month on September 7th, when she tried to hit a man and a woman while they were crossing High Street to a parking lot across from the Hyatt Regency.

They say Brewer jumped out the vehicle barefooted and started yelling at the couple.

Police also say Brewer punched the man and then hit the woman multiple times causing her to fall on the ground.

They say witnesses in the area were able to get Brewer off of the woman during the scuffle.

Police then say she circled back around the parking lot in her vehicle and tried to hit the couple a second time.

Brewer is charged with wanton endangerment and assault.

She is scheduled to appear in court on those charges today.
