LPD: Suspected drunk driver hits car, then business

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a suspected drunk driver hit a car in a restaurant drive-thru and then the business itself Tuesday night.

Police say it happened just before 9:30 p.m. at the Cook Out Restaurant on South Broadway.

Investigators say the damage to the building was minimal.

Police say the Lexington Fire Department checked the structural integrity of the building and said it was safe.

The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police say the driver was expected to be charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

The driver’s name wasn’t released.
