LPD: Pills taken in store robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say a man was looking for pills, not cash, when he robbed a store early Tuesday morning.

It happened at around 3:20 a.m. at the Rite Aid pharmacy on Tates Creek Centre Drive.

Police say a man with a surgical mask covering his face came up to the pharmacy clerk and pulled up his shirt to show the gun tucked in his waistband.

He demanded pills and left after getting them.

Police say a K9 unit was called in but lost the track.

They say the suspect may have took off in a waiting vehicle.
