LPD needs help recovering stolen property

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police are asking for the public’s help to recover items stolen out of two department vehicles.

Lexington Police say during the weekend of October 23, two police employees, Officer Aaron Adams and Evidence Technician Tim Russell filed police reports at their separate homes in Jessamine County after they found their department-issued vehicles broken into.

“Though the vehicle damaged and items stolen are property of the Lexington Police Department, these two employees and their families joined others in their community who know the unsettling feeling of becoming residential crime victims,” the department said in a release Monday.

The items stolen were various items of police equipment, including flashlights, a camera, ammunition and four firearms, police say. It is not known if the suspects were targeting police vehicles.

The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information is asked to call Lexington Police, Nicholasville Police or the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.
