LPD: Man shot walking home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A walk home lands a Lexington man in the hospital.

Lexington police say the man was heading home from the store to his apartment on Cross Keys Road at around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday when he was shot.

The victim says he was approached by two men while he was walking when one of the men pulled a gun out and started shooting at him.

Police say the victim was struck once in the upper body by a bullet.

The suspects then took off.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with what appears to be a non life-threatening injury.

Three shell casings were found at the scene.

Police are still searching for the suspects.
