LPD: Man grabs veteran group’s money jar and takes off
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington police say a man grabbed a money jar from a veteran’s group, then ran off.
Officers say “Veterans Outreach” was set up Thursday outside both doors at the Northpark Walmart on New Circle Road. Police say a man walked up to one of the tables, then stole the table and the jar of money bolted to it.
Investigators say the suspect threw the whole thing into the back of a truck and drove off. Police say someone tried to chase him, but fell.
Officers are still looking for the man.
