LPD: Man charged for stalking woman for months after finding her on social media

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police say they have charged a man for stalking a woman for months, after targeting her on social media.

Police say 29-year-old Cameron Hunter Leech does not know the victim he is accused of harassing between May and September of 2018.

According to the arrest citation, Leech found the victim on Facebook and Instagram and sent her “hundreds” of messages.

The victim told Leech to stop and to “back off.” The citation says Leech continued to send messages saying “I’m gonna getcha,” “I need to see you. I need to feel you.”

The citation also says that Leech showed up unannounced to the victim’s work and the victim’s friend’s work. The victim notified police and police told Leech to stop contacting the victim.

Police say Leech showed up at the Lexington Athletic Club when the victim was leaving and blocked her from closing the door. The citation says Leech then asked the victim to take a picture of him with the rose he was holding.

Police say the victim filed a stalking report and a no contact protective order against Leech the next day and the order was served to Leech on July 17.

Police say Leech violated the protective order twice by sending more messages through Instagram and using five different accounts to message the victim.

The arrest citation says Leech admitted to the incidents in an interview.
