LPD: Man arrested for three robberies
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police have arrested a man after they say he committed three robberies October 5th with a 15-year-old helping him.
The man arrested is 24-year-old Deaijamar Hawkins.
Police say Hawkins robbed three different people at gunpoint and held one of those victims against his will.
They say Hawkins robbed the first victim then tried to force him to drive to a bank nearby to retrieve more money.
According to Lexington Police, he robbed two other people not long after.
Police say they tried to stop him and the 15-year-old in Thoroughbred Park, but the 15-year-old ran away.
Police say the 15-year-old is also facing charges.
They say Hawkins was in possession of a handgun at the time and a small amount of cocaine.
Hawkins is charged with three counts of robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of controlled substance, and unlawful transaction with a minor.
He is scheduled to appear in court on those charges today.
