LPD: Man arrested after speeding the wrong way down street

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a man drove the wrong way at a high rate of speed down a Lexington street, trying to avoid them.

They say it happened Tuesday at around 8:30 p.m. as an officer tried to pull over 42-year-old Juan Roberts for expired plates.

When the officer put on his lights, he says Roberts took off, running stop signs before turning onto Waller Avenue and driving on the wrong side of the roads at around 80 miles an hour.

Roberts hit a curb then got out and ran but police say they caught up to him.

Police say cocaine was found in his car.
