LPD: Man almost hits officer with car

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say on officer was almost run down while stopping a drug deal.

Court documents say 45-year-old Craig Chowning was arrested Tuesday in Lexington after court documents say he ran from police during a drug deal.

Documents say he jumped in his car, drove it onto a curb and almost hit an officer.

Chowning was taken into custody a few hours later.

He is charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer.
