LPD investigating after stabbed woman flags down passing officer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officers are investigating a stabbing in downtown Lexington, after a wounded woman flagged down a passing officer along Jefferson and 2nd Streets.
The officer, who was responding to a separate call, says the woman was having difficulty speaking, and was only able to communicate that another woman had stabbed her. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police responded to the Tower Apartments, near where the victim flagged the officer down, but say they were unable to locate anything that looked like a crime scene.
Investigators are now theorizing that the woman was stabbed elsewhere, and walked to Jefferson and 2nd.
Due to the victim’s condition, officers have not been able to learn much about the suspect.
Detectives will re-interview her after she is treated for her injuries, and is more stabilized.
