LPD: Driver slams into utility pole in Lexington then runs off

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say a driver slammed her car into a utility pole on Monday morning then ran off.

Police found the SUV and the broken pole on Aurora Drive just before 3 a.m.

They say the pole was broken and there were live wires on the roadway.

Police found the driver a short time later.

Kentucky Utilities is working to replace the pole.
