LPD, coroner ask for help after bicyclist dies in hit-and-run accident

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office says the family of John V. Oliver has been located.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington Police Department are asking for the public’s help with a fatal hit-and-run accident case involving a bicyclist.

The coroner says 47-year-old John V. Oliver passed away at the University of Kentucky hospital on Sunday.

Oliver was found lying in the road on North Limestone between Templeman Street and Constitution Street on Saturday around 2 a.m.

Police say he was on his bicycle when he was hit by a car.

The driver took off.

Police say they do not have a description of the vehicle involved and are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has spotted a vehicle with suspicious damage to contact them at (859) 258-3663

The coroner’s office is also asking for help finding Oliver’s relatives and ask anyone with information contact their office at (859) 455-5700.
