LPD: Clerk hit during robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a clerk was assaulted during a robbery at a Lexington gas station.

It happened at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Marathon gas station on South Broadway.

Police say a man came in with his face partially covered, carrying a gun and demanding money.

Police believe he got frustrated because the clerk would not give him the money fast enough.

Police say that is when he hit her with the gun, grabbed money from the register and ran off.

The clerk suffered minor injuries but did not go to the hospital, according to police.

A K9 unit tracked the scent to a nearby apartment but eventually lost it.
