LPD: Child critically injured in car wreck
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a child was critically injured in a two-vehicle collision on Versailles Road. The accident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015, according to investigators.
Police say a car with a driver and two children inside was rear-ended by another vehicle. One of the children, who investigators say was believed to have been in a child safety seat, was critically injured. The other child and the driver were not hurt, according to police. No one in the other vehicle was injured, according to investigators. Police say the child suffered life-threatening injuries. The child’s name was not released.
Versailles Road near New Circle Road was closed while investigators reconstructed the accident. The road was reopened Monday evening.
