LPD: Child Catches Armed, Masked Men Breaking into Home
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington police say a child might have chased off a couple of burglars Thursday night.
Officers say two armed men, possibly in their late teens, were seen at a home on Gayle Drive. Police say both were in Halloween masks and dark clothing when they went into a house.
Investigators say a seven-year-old boy playing video games heard noises and peeked out of his room. That’s when officers say he saw the men stealing a small amount of money that was left out on a couch or side table.
When the suspects saw the boy, police say they took the money and left. Investigators believe the men will be visible on the family’s surveillance tape system.
Police say two adults and another juvenile were also home at the time. No one was hurt.
