LPD: Car shot during drug deal

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a heroin deal was behind a shooting in Lexington early Wednesday morning.

Officers were in the area off Richmond Road and Man O’ War when they heard shots being fired around 1:15 a.m.

They spotted a red car jumping a curb and tearing out of the parking lot.

Police say they were able to stop the car on Man O’ War Boulevard and Richmond Road, and say there were bullet holes in the rear of the vehicle.

Police say the two men in the car told them they were in the Walmart parking lot to buy heroin when a man assaulted them and fired at their car.  That’s when, police say, the two attempted to drive away.

Police are still looking for the suspect.

They say the two men could also face charges.
