LPD: Cab driver held at gunpoint by juveniles
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A cab ride turned into a kidnapping on Sunday morning in Lexington.
According to Lexington police, two juveniles got into a taxi cab at around 4:21 a.m. and told the driver to take them to Danielle Lane.
They told him to stop at another location first and during that stop, the driver noticed one of them had a gun.
When the driver told them he wasn’t going to continue to drive them, police say the juveniles threatened to kill him if he didn’t.
Police say the driver was able to call 911 without the two knowing. Officers stopped the cab at Fortune Drive near Danielle Lane and took the two juveniles into custody.
They are charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, procession of firearm by a minor and drug possession.
