LPD: Burglary suspect tried to sell stolen items to detectives
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man looking to sell some stolen items tried to sell to the wrong buyer, according to Lexington police.
Police say 32-year-old Edward W. Woods was arrested Tuesday for a string of recent burglaries.
Investigators with the Residential Crimes Unit say they were able to locate stolen items from the burglaries for sale on social media.
Police say on June 12, detectives arranged to meet with the seller, who turned out to be Woods, to buy some of the stolen property.
Woods was taken into custody when he showed up to make the sale.
Detectives say they were able to close four burglary cases with Woods’ arrest.
