LPD: Back-to-back shootings on same Lexington street
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are trying to determine if two shootings within a half-hour of each other on the same Lexington street are related.
Police arrived for the first shooting call at an apartment complex in the 2100-block of Winburn Drive just before 12:30 a.m. and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.
Police said he told them he got into a fight with some people in a car and they started firing shots at him.
Officers noticed some bullets hit the outside of the apartment building.
Then at around 1 a.m. as police were investigating that case, there was another shooting call.
This was on the 1000-block of Winburn Drive.
Police said the victim had a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Officers were in the area at the time but said they did not hear any gunshots.
Both victims’ injuries are said to be non life-threatening.
Police said neither victim is giving them much information to go on and they are not sure if these two shootings are related.
