UPDATE: Suspect in Lexington shooting identified

Update:  Friday, January 4, 2019:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest citation obtained by ABC 36 News says 33-year old Austin McDaniel told Lexington Police he went to a home on Mark Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Friday to find his “wife.”

The citation says McDaniel told investigators he got into a fight with the homeowner and shot him three times.

The victim, whose name wasn’t released, suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to investigators.

McDaniel was arrested on assault charges and taken to the Fayette County Detention Center, according to police.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police have one man in custody following an early morning shooting.

Police were called to a reported shooting in the 2000 block of Mark Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Officers arrived and found one man suffering from a gunshot wound.

They say his injury was not life-threatening.

Police say the man got into a fight with another man and he was shot.

The suspect was arrested a short time later.
