Louisville woman charged with human trafficking
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lawrenceburg say a Louisville woman was arrested Saturday on charges of human trafficking after she reportedly had children sell cookies and kept nearly all of the profits for herself.
The Anderson News says that 32-year-old Rhonda Bell sent out nine boys between the ages of 9 and 16 to sell cookies for her along Sunset Drive. The newspaper says none of the children were from Lawrenceburg, and that they were released to family members after she was arrested. Furthermore, at least one parent thought their child was home in bed at the time Bell sent them out to sell for her, according to the paper.
The Anderson News says Bell pleaded not guilty in Anderson District Court on Monday.
