Lonnie Johnson selected 54th overall by Houston Texans
LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ) – Former UK defensive back Lonnie Johnson became the second wildcat selected in this year’s NFL Draft.
Johnson was selected in the 2nd round and 54th overall to the Houston Texans.
Johnson is a former junior college player who spent two seasons at Kentucky (2017 and 2018)
Started in 18 of 26 career games, including 18 in a row.
Two-year totals included 64 tackles, 3.0 TFL (13 yards), 1.0 sacks, 12 PBUs, two blocked kicks, one interception and a forced fumble
Johnson intercepted a pass in the third quarter vs. Penn State in the Citrus Bowl in 2018, the first pickoff of his career.
