Longtime news anchor, radio personality Sue Wylie dies in car crash
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Longtime news anchor and radio personality Sue Wylie has died after a car crash that happened Tuesday night in Lexington.
Wylie was 90 years old.
Lexington Police say they responded to a crash around 5 PM at Alumni Drive and Chinoe Road. Five vehicles were involved in the accident.
Police say three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Fayette County Coroner says Wylie was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where she later died.
Wylie worked at WLEX in Lexington from 1968 to 1998, where she’s believed to be the city’s first female anchor.
Her death comes less than one week after another local broadcasting legend, longtime weather anchor Frank Faulconer, passed away last Thursday.
