Longtime Kentucky car dealer Jack Kain dead at 94

(WTVQ) — Jack Kain of Kain Ford has passed away on Tuesday, his family announced.

Kain had been a popular car dealer and a community stalwart in Kentucky since 1959 after opening his first dealership in Versailles.

Kain began selling cars part-time in 1947 was he was a student at the University of Kentucky.

After being in business for more than six decades, Kain served more than 70,000 customers.

In a statement, Kain’s family announced he had been battling cancer. His son says his dedication to his community, family, friends, and customers left an indelible mark.

“I think the community cares about his passing because he cared so much about the community,” said Jack’s son, Bob Kain. “He went out of his way his entire life to support the community to make it a better community. There’s so many different endeavors that he did for Woodford County and central Kentucky that people don’t even know about.”

Funeral arrangements are still pending.

Kain was 94 years old.
