London police to host free church security training after Lexington shooting

LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — In response to the recent deadly shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, the London Police Department is offering a free church security training event next month.

According to the department, the training is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the London Community Center. Officers say the session will cover safety topics designed specifically for churches, church events, and religious gatherings.

The department encourages faith leaders and congregation members to attend and learn ways to improve security and preparedness.
