London police investigate after mysterious reports of gunfire

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they don’t have any answers after reports of gunfire off of KY HWY 80 early Friday morning.

Officers say they were called to the highway, near the Pulaski and Laurel County line at around 1:40 a.m., after drivers reported debris in the roadway and damage to their vehicles from what they thought was gunfire.

Police say they canvassed the surrounding area, but were unable to locate a suspect or any conclusive evidence that shots had been fired.

Troopers say an extra patrol will be assigned to the area, and they will continue to investigate.
