London man arrested after alleged unlawful imprisonment of woman

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A London man was arrested overnight after he was allegedly involved in a domestic situation and unlawfully imprisoned a woman in a home.

Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and London police were called to a home on River Road.

Once there, officers saw a man, later identified as James Reed, and attempted to speak to him. They say he “slammed” the door in their face before they could confirm the woman inside was safe.

After “numerous attempts” to confirm the woman’s safety, the Southeast Regional Kentucky Special Response Team was requested to step in.

Around 5 a.m., officers were given a search warrant and Reed was arrested.

The woman was found safely inside.

Reed was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment.
