London, Ky. mayor faces push back, special meeting set for Friday
LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The City of London will hold a special called meeting at noon Friday to discuss charges against Mayor Randall Weddle that could lead to his impeachment.
The meeting will take place in the council chambers at the Community Center on Main Street. City officials say a separate hearing has been scheduled for September 5.
Weddle faces multiple allegations of misconduct, including hiring and firing employees without council approval, overpaying staff, misuse of the police department, and mishandling city funds. The city council announced a resolution outlining the charges during its August 4 meeting.
On Wednesday, Weddle addressed the situation in a Facebook post, stating, “You might impeach me, but can’t impeach the voters come 2026.”
