Local Shops Prepare for Small Biz Weekend
Black Friday may be ending, but there are more deals to be had at local businesses this weekend.
Every weekend following Thanksgiving and Black Friday, small businesses take the opportunity to offer their own sales.
For every dollar spent locally, 68 cents of that stays within the community.
When shoppers spend their money at some stores, they help more than their local economy. Lexington’s Lucia’s World Friendly Boutique only sells items that are made by artisans in developing countries around the world.
Other local shops are partnering with their neighboring businesses to offer combo deals. Local store owners say they often work together, sharing customers.
American Express will also sponsor their annual Small Business Saturday this weekend.
