Local Rescue Dog Needs Your Help

In March of 2013 we introduced you to a animal shelter and rehab clinic in Laurel County called Homeward Bound Canine Rescue and Rehab Center.

The center takes in dogs from across the state that are in such bad condition they would be put down at other shelters.

One of their dogs named Jo-Jo came to the shelter about a year ago after being found with a badly injured hind leg.

The folks at the center say Jo-Jo had been tied up and abused so bad she had tried to chew her own leg off in order to escape.

Jo-Jo’s leg was amputated and put into foster care.

Recently Jo-Jo went to the vet to get spayed and checked for worms.

The vet found that Jo-Jo had a severe amount of worms and needed an emergency and expensive operation in order to survive.

Homeward Bound Canine Rescue and Rehab Center says they are asking the public for donations for Jo-Jo’s operation.
