Gov. Beshear announces newest 'Kentucky Work Ready Communities'

The state says seven counties have been certified as Kentucky Work Ready Communities. The list includes Boyd, Carlisle, Greenup, Marshall, McCracken, Union and Washington counties. In addition, the state says Caldwell, Fulton, Green and Harrison counties have reached the Kentucky Work Ready Communities in Progress level.

Berry Fire Department needs donated toys

The Berry Volunteer Fire Department in Harrison County is asking people to donate new or gently used, unwrapped toys for its annual Christmas party for less fortunate children.

Hospital: Conjoined twin girls successfully separated

Doctors at a Kentucky hospital have successfully separated conjoined twin girls. Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville said in a statement that the eight-hour surgery was performed on the 7-week-old girls on Nov. 11.
