Federal investigators say they believe Central Kentucky tobacco farmers, crop insurance agents, tobacco warehouse owners and others conspired to defraud thousands and possibly millions of dollars from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's program that insures crops.

Grandmother accused of showing up impaired at sheriff's office

A grandmother is accused of being under the influence when she showed up at the Laurel County Sheriff's Office to pick up her six-month old grandson, whose 23-year old mother was one of five people arrested on drug charges, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

Fayette County names two newest elementary schools

The Fayette County Board of Education on Monday voted on names for the district's two newest elementary schools. The school under construction at 2441 Huntly Place will be 'Coventry Oak Elementary,' and the school being built at 1150 Passage Mound Way will be 'Garrett Morgan Elementary.'

Road construction to impact traffic in Danville

An entrance is scheduled to be installed for South 4th Street in Danville which will temporarily impact traffic, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15 and last until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, according to the state.
