Search underway in Jackson County for missing boy

JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say a five year old boy is missing in Jackson County.

Officials say his name is James Spoonamore.

A family member messaged ABC 36 via our Facebook page saying the mother had been found beaten and unconscious over a cliff.

The family said she was taken to UK Medical Center.

The family says the boy might be somewhere in the woods.

State Police say 40-year-old Lonnie Belt was arrested on Saturday and charged with kidnapping (adult and minor), assault and tampering with physical evidence.

He is being held in the Jackson County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

A press conference will be held at 2 p.m.
