Lincoln County Woman Abducted; Held For Ransom

Stanford police say a man abducted a woman at gun point.

Police say she was forced to call people, and told them to drop off ransom money.

Police say she was then forced to drive her car to the drop point: A Stanford church.

After the money was dropped off the suspect let the woman go; however, the suspect never collected the money.

The suspect left, and  took the woman’s car to Walmart.  Meanwhile, a man who lived across from the church spotted the money.

"I see it laying there, and anybody that sees a bunch of money, they pick it up.  That’s it.  I went in the house, and sat down," said Donald Jones, Jr.

Police searched the woods around Walmart for the suspect, and Jones later gave the money back to police.

"Feels good to give it back to who it belongs to, and the person was safe," said Jones.

Police haven’t told us a motive, but the victim’s brother says an ex-boyfriend knew she had money and had a key to the apartment.

The brother says the ex gave the key to the suspect, and had him abduct the victim.

Stanford Police say the victim is a convicted felon, and alluded there is much more to the story, but wouldn’t tell us more.
