Lincoln County students return to school after construction delay

STANFORD, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Monday marks the first day of school for Lincoln County students following a construction delay at the high school.

The start of classes was originally pushed back due to ongoing renovations at Lincoln County High School. School officials say the work is part of a multi-phase project aimed at improving facilities for students and athletes.

Last month, the school board approved bids for Phase Two of the project. That work includes a new front entrance, turf infields for both baseball and softball fields, and an addition to the football fieldhouse.

Officials say the upgrades are designed to modernize the high school campus and provide new opportunities for students as the academic year begins.
