Lincoln Co. school bus drives through high water

STANFORD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A school bus driver faced with heavy rains and a flooded out road, decided to drive through high waters while schoolchildren were on the bus Tuesday.

Viewers sent a picture to ABC 36 showing the bus going through the flooded area of the road.

School officials say they checked flood prone areas before buses hit the road and didn’t think the water would rise as quickly as it did.  The school district’s transportation director says this bus made it through safely and no one was hurt.

Lincoln Co. schools let out at 10:15 Tuesday morning because of the severe weather.  Boyle and Bath Co. schools also got out early.
